Created by Cameroonian designer Kibonen Nfi, founder of the Kibonen brand, the brunch gathers women who own and embody the Mafo Dress. Each woman wears it differently. Different bodies. Mafo is a revered title within the Bamileke tradition, given to a woman of influence and authority. She is often a queen mother or high ranking figure within the royal structure. She embodies dignity, leadership, wisdom and generational impact. The Mafo Dress draws from this lineage, reminding women that legacy is something they carry, not something they wait for.

The symbols woven into the dress are intentional. Historically present in royal and ceremonial textiles, these motifs communicate a shared language. They rotate around unity, resilience, wisdom, power and creation. They are not decoration. They are declarations. They reflect gathering, transformation, insight, strength and the sacred role of women in continuity.

Beyond culture, there is a defined financial vision. The Mafo Dress serves as the brand’s signature revenue anchor, with a goal of selling 5,000 dresses globally. To date, 110 dresses have been sold and the number continues to rise steadily, building sustainable growth for the Kibonen house.

Proceeds support Mothers to Daughters, a registered 501(c)(3) organization advancing mentorship and opportunity for women entrepreneurs, ensuring the impact extends beyond the table.
