From Cambridge to Washington—and Now UNGA81

The MÄFO Dress Brunch Tour has brought African fashion into influential academic, financial and policy communities — from the Harvard community in Cambridge to Washington, D.C., during the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings. In September, an influencer brunch hosted by Claire Sulmers, Founder and CEO of Fashion Bomb Daily, will build cultural momentum before the movement enters its most globally consequential room to date during UNGA81.

IMPACT

When one woman moves forward, she brings another with her.

From Fashion to Lasting Opportunity

The MÄFO Movement is helping ignite the Creative Economy Program under Mothers to Daughters' Generational Intelligence Lab, an initiative built to equip emerging women creatives and entrepreneurs with the intelligence, mentorship, technology and strategic relationships required to build sustainable businesses.

  • Elevate African design and craftsmanship
  • Strengthen women-led creative enterprises
  • Connect women across generations, industries and borders
  • Create visibility and paid opportunities for emerging leaders
  • Expand access to mentorship, AI tools and strategic relationships

The dress creates visibility. The program turns that visibility into enterprise, income and lasting influence. And it moves toward something larger: helping 100,000 women entrepreneurs gain access to mentorship, leadership resources, influential networks and opportunity by 2035.
